Trauma-Informed Family Support

Every child deserves a home that holds.

Raising a child with a trauma history is one of the hardest things a person can do. You love them deeply, and some days that still isn't enough. Rooted Families exists for exactly that moment. We equip caregivers with TBRI skills that go beyond a weekend workshop, connect you with a community that understands, and stand beside you for the long haul. Because healing isn't a one-time event. It's a way of living.

What Makes Us Different

More than training. A place to belong.

Most caregivers get eight hours of TBRI training and a binder. Then they go home to a child in crisis with no one to call. We built Rooted because that gap costs children stable placements. Our 24-hour caregiver packages, ongoing groups, and community support treat TBRI the way it was designed: as a lifestyle, not a lecture. We removed insurance barriers so families can actually get in the door. And we show up as people who have walked this road ourselves.

TBRI Caregiver Training

TBRI Caregiver Training

Our 24-hour caregiver training goes far beyond introductory workshops. You leave with practical tools for understanding behavior, building connection, and responding in ways that actually reach your child.
Therapeutic Family Programs

Therapeutic Family Programs

From Family Adventure Days to our Deep Roots mentor club, our experiential programs build attachment through shared experience. Children and caregivers grow together in ways that no classroom can replicate.
Caregiver Support Groups

Caregiver Support Groups

You need more than skills. You need people who get it. Our ongoing groups give caregivers a safe space to process hard weeks, share what's working, and remember they are not alone in this.
Professional Development

Professional Development

Therapists, social workers, and educators can deepen their TBRI knowledge and serve families more effectively. We offer training designed for practitioners who want to bring real change to the families they serve.

Hello world!

Our Story

Built from the inside, not the outside.

Rooted Families didn't start in a conference room. It started in a home, with a family that needed more support than the system offered. Our founder is a foster and adoptive parent who has also worked in residential care and seen firsthand what happens when children don't get stable placements: more moves, more hospitalizations, more trauma layered on top of trauma. That experience drove the creation of an organization that removes the barriers standing between families and real help. No insurance gatekeeping. No waiting list for those who can pay. Just skilled, compassionate support for caregivers and children who need it.

What Rooted Offers

Every program at Rooted is built around one conviction: families need more than information. They need community, consistency, and care that doesn't disappear when the session ends. We serve families in Burleson and Fort Worth, Texas, and Portland, Oregon, with sliding scale fees so cost is never the reason a family goes without.

24-Hour TBRI Caregiver Package

In-depth training that gives caregivers a real working knowledge of TBRI principles, not just an overview. Includes empowering, connecting, and correcting strategies applied to everyday life with children from hard places.

Deep Roots Mentor Club

A structured mentorship program for children that pairs them with caring adults, giving them consistent, safe relationships that reinforce what caregivers are building at home.

Ongoing Caregiver Support Groups

Weekly and monthly groups that keep caregivers connected, supported, and growing. When the hard weeks hit, you have people around you who understand and a place to process without judgment.

Family Adventure Days

Experiential programming that builds attachment through shared adventure. These family days create the kinds of moments that strengthen connection in ways that conversation alone cannot.

Professional TBRI Training

Practitioner-level training for therapists, social workers, and educators who want to apply TBRI methodology in their professional practice and serve trauma-impacted families with greater skill.

Sliding Scale Access

We operate as a nonprofit specifically so cost is not the barrier. Fees scale to what families can afford because every family deserves access, not just those with the right insurance plan.

Take the Next Step

A haven is waiting for your family.

Children heal in the context of safe, connected relationships. Caregivers build those relationships when they feel equipped, seen, and supported. That is the cycle Rooted exists to create. One family at a time, one generation at a time.
